Alan W. Porter has lived in six states, but now calls Minnesota home. A lifelong storyteller, he has loved reading and writing for as long as he can remember, and even wrote, produced, and directed an unauthorized Star Wars sequel in the fifth grade.

Alan holds degrees from the University of Iowa and Iowa College of Law. In 2009 he received a McKnight Fellowship for his screenplay The Saint of Denmark Falls. When not writing, he enjoys a wide variety of films, books, and music, the occasional video game, and relaxing with his wife, son, and cranky cat.
